Sunset and a Friend

The other day we were able to have our friends the Baldizon's over for dinner. Rebecca and Kevin have a son, Kade, who is about 6 weeks older than Nick. We met this sweet family at our new church, Grace Baptist of Santa Maria, and have deeply enjoyed their fellowship, befriending, and conversation. In any event, before they came over there was a sweet sunset happening in front of our house over the hills, so I snapped a few quick shots before I went out and got a pizza, standard Grindy household procedure. When I got home with the pie, the Baldizon's were there and we thought it would be a good opportunity to stage a photo shoot. So Kevin and I each held our sons and tried to pose them, but they ended up more interested in each other than listening to their moms.
I like this one with no flash and the boys just kind of silhouetted in the light, staring at eachother

Nick was definitely jealous of Kade's cargo sweats as opposed to his grandpa pants

As you can tell, they may only be 6 weeks apart, but Kade is years ahead of Nick in hair!

Wondering how long this was gonna take and who would blink first

Clean-up on Aisle 5

Nick loves to be held upside down. He'll arch his back, giggle, and smile like crazy. He'll let me do it as often as I can without pulling a tricep muscle. I made a mistake recently. I decidedly chose to hold him in said manner...just after he had consumed a large dinner. My mistake not only lay with my timing, but also in having my mouth slightly ajar. As I'm sure you have figured out, oh wise ones, I also tasted Nick's dinner. I then did what any desperate father in this situation would do, I called for my wife to please bring me a burp cloth. She eventually did bring me a burp cloth, but only after snapping a quick photo. You may have to click on the photo to see where the puke landed.

Of course, being covered in baby puke calls for a bath. Nick's growing so big that it's a task and a half to keep him in his little tub. Sometimes it's easier just for me to get in the bath with him. So here we are, hanging out just like me and my dad did. Katy was (mostly) careful in being discreet about my nudity, but some pictures did have to be deleted!

This time I wasn't afraid of projectile vomiting!

A bit of a hairdo
