walk to the creek

Last weekend the three of us took a walk down to the creek that is behind our subdivision where there is a trail and some nice skipping rocks. Here's some shots from that afternoon:

Katy and Lucy (held by me taking the shot) almost at the trail head.

That's Avenue of the Flags, the main street in Buellton, our town.

No commentary needed.

Reflection of the bridge seen above.

Look closely, Lucy's in there somewhere.

Lucy again hiding in the trail brush.

Katy and Lucy both looking cute as ever.

inside our home!

Well, here we are. All settled and moved in to our new home. The picture above is from our front yard. Quite the picturesque family if I do say so myself. Anyway, hope you all can come visit soon. As you can see there is plenty of room for all guests! (including dogs!)

The full view...take it in, take it all in.

Lucy, ever the watchful eye, reigns in the living room.

Sort of a makeshift office, but it works until we get a desk to replace the one I had Dave Wisner demolish.

Rob's home away from home.

Ummm, the hallway to the garage. With a doggy door. Or more like a cat door. Whatever.

Master bedroom, where magic happens. Wink!

More of the Master bedroom with a private entrance for Lucy.

Guest room #1/future office. Comes with its own queen pillowtop aerobed!

Guest room #2...not quite finished yet.

From the porch

I took these pictures the other day. As you can probably tell from the title, they're from our front yard. There is a golf course right on the other side of the street, a little executive course called Zaca Creek. Haven't played yet, looks easy, but who knows, I've been at the academy for a long time and my own grass with a flag in it would probably take me 20 strokes. Stay tuned for our next episode entitled, "inside our home!"

not the greatest rememberers

So katy and I, ok, mostly me, forgot something quite important a few days ago. I forgot to call my mom on her birthday. I know. Woe is me. I am quite the crap bag. So in honor of that abysmal occasion, I decided to try and help make up for being the world's worst son by doing a picture montage of my mom with katy and i, narrated by me. the crap bag.

mom teaching me at a young age that it's ok to be hairy...see? your dog bogie is hairy and she's content!

mom letting me listen to how a true son wishes his mom happy birthday even inside a belly

pssst, hey mom! i'm gonna forget your birthday in about 25 years! sorry!

if you're a crap bag and you know it clap your hands!

about what I was doing the other night when I forgot mom's birthday

just push me down the mountain now and save you some trouble later mom

ahhh what a college education can do for one's intelligence...forgetting the birthday of the one who bore you. sad.

probably would've done a lot worse to my face had she known what was coming in a few years.

one last dance before it all goes down the tubes. pitiful rob.

how a real son treats his mother.

sorry michele, i'm partly to blame as well. now i'll always be runner up to natalie.

finally, pre-forgotten birthday. a somewhat happy scene. the last of it's kind.

LOVE YOU MOM! SORRY I FORGOT TO CALL! TRUST ME, YOU'LL NEVER LET ME FORGET AGAIN!

View from the front yard

Our new home

Well since we dont have electricity yet, or Internet for that matter,
i can only post one picture at a time, so we chose this one as its too
dark to really see inside our house anyway. This is the new abode de
grindy in lovely buellton california. As you can probably not tell,
there is plenty of room for houseguests so make your reservations now.
At free 99 it doesnt get much better 15 minutes from the coast. One
thing also missing is our dog Lucy who's coming Saturday morning along
with katys parents and a washer and dryer so woo hoo! More pics to
follow.
