New Camera and Hearst Castle

Ever since Katy got pregnant we've been saying that we should get a really nice camera. Well last month, the Nikon's at Costco went on sale and we splurged a little bit. That's probably why we've been posting slideshows as of late, too many pictures to post, and we don't want to waste your time. My parents came up last week and we made a day trip to Hearst Castle. My parents and I had never been but Katy had, nonetheless it made for a fun trip and some cool pictures. Click here to see the whole the whole album and below are a couple of my favorites:

The family around the pool

I like the focus on the oranges in the foreground with the pool columns in the back

And a ridiculously enormous pool.

Some swans guarding the bottom of a lamp post with the pool in the back.

Mr. Hearst's private estate on the "ranch"

This is supposed to be a wooly covered man guarding the front door to Mr. Hearst's private estate. My mom thought he and I had comparable hair volumes

The dining room ceiling complete with an imported hand carved ceiling

And finally, our last stop on the tour, a 1.5 million dollar indoor pool with hand laid mosaic tiles and 24 karat gold leafing
